Durability Goes On

“Durability Goes On” encapsulates both the “how” and the “what” of GBIE. First, the tagline alludes to how coating is physically applied – it literally “goes on” a part. However, the phrase “goes on” can also mean “to continue or persist,” so the play on words can also refer to the long-lasting quality of SLIP-COAT products, as well as the continued success of GBIE as a company, now in its second generation of family ownership.

As the original manufacturer of Abrasion Resistant Coatings for automotive weatherseals, it is fitting that GBIE’s logo is comprised of arcs. The inner-most portion of the logo is made up of four arcs that are touching, symbolizing the cross-section of an extruded profile in a way that doesn’t show preference for any specific part. The surrounding arcs represent layers of Abrasion Resistant Coating that are applied to the part, further reinforcing the connection to SLIP-COAT product names which all begin with ARC. The integration of the “G” in GBIE into the bottom right arc further strengthens the message that GBIE’s focus is Abrasion Resistant Coatings.
